Was surprised how quickly he tired, and how sharp the drop off was. Good game up until that point. Hopefully he gets back to his potential and increases his stamina as the season goes on.

He tried doing too much, basically carrying the team on his back for the first half.

Opening day of the season, hasn't played a proper competitive game of men's football since, what, May?

I remember it being similar to the opening stages of last season too with him.

Listen to what the man says here. That "outside noise" is some of you and it isn't helping anyone.

yea i bet hes sad enough to come on here and read what you and sudoko have to say about him lol.

what do you want, a forum where its all just positivity and rainbows? thats not how it works in the real world. players deserving of praise get it, players deserving of shit get it. its how it works.

its not a popularity contest and the players are paid a hell of a lot of money to perform for the badge, if they are not up to it then its getting called out. madrid fans smash up players cars....maybe the reason they win so much and have such glory in the game is because their fans aint little pussys and they demand quality.

He looked really good again. He looks a lot like this time last season, I hope it lasts this time.

Yeah, he's looking much like his old self.

Let's see if he can go up a further level with Newcastle and Woolwich coming up.

As always, it's the injury that concerns me. Just stay healthy and we can make a run at something for sure.

He looks better than post-January but there’s still a way to go.

Being negative, he lost the ball a fair bit today, some poor passes, missed runs (Odobert was in open space on the left with room to run in the first half but Maddison chose to run it before losing it) and he took a few shots when he really should have passed.

He has done well overall over the last two games though. Hopefully he gets sharper the more he plays. Lovely player to watch when he’s on it.

Very much improved. So vital for us that he hits form, as he is one of pur most creative players.

It helps with a period of health and consistency. And competition from the young swede, seems to have done him good also?

Better than on Monday but I’m still not that impressed. I wish we’d have signed Eze to push him on further.

Was better. But I just don’t like him which makes it hard to be fair to him

I think he’s a good player and maybe that’s why I’m being a little harsh on him but it’s only because I think there is so much more to come from him.

His movement off the ball is great to watch live in the stadium. Very clever player

He started this season same as last one, and has been our best player across the two matches. Now it's up to him to keep it up. His issue is consistency.

He is definitely getting close to peak performance, been running the show for large parts of both games.

His interviews are cringey af though. Brent-esque.
