How to make your eyes look bigger using makeup
1. Prime your eyelids
To start, you’ll want to prime your eyelids with a little coverage.
You can use a concealer or any eye primer that works for you, just make sure it’s light enough to cover any discoloration, especially in the inner and outer corners of the eyes.
Apply a thin, even layer so it won’t crease.

2. Define your crease
Next, you’ll define your crease. Instead of using a fluffy brush, grab a tapered one and use a neutral brown bronzer as an eyeshadow (or any neutral color you like).
Start by applying the shadow above your natural crease to give your eyes a lifted look. Keep the shadow close to the outer corners so you don’t elongate the eyes.

3. Apply shadow to the lower lash line
For the lower lash line, use the same bronzer shade and apply it on the outer half, leaving a small gap between your lashes and the shadow.
This little gap will create a more open-eyed look, which is key to making your eyes appear bigger.

4. Apply a light matte shadow on the lid
Now, let’s add a light matte shadow to your eyelids. Choose a light, creamy matte shade and apply it all over your lid. This will instantly brighten your eyes.
If you’ve blended the crease color too low, this light shade will help clean it up.

5. Highlight the lower lash line
Moving on to the lower lash line again, you’ll want to add a little highlight between the shadow and your lashes.
Apply some of that same light shadow in the pocket under your lower lash line to brighten things up.
Also, bring this highlight into your inner corners to open up your eyes even more.

6. Apply soft liner
For eyeliner, go with a brown pencil instead of black. Brown is softer and won’t close off your eyes.
Apply it tightly along your upper lash line, but focus it on the outer corners.
Don’t bring the liner to the inner corner – that’ll make your eyes look smaller.

You can wing the liner out a little, but make sure it’s applied slightly higher than your natural crease to lift the eyes.
Softly blend out the liner with a small brush to keep things natural.

7. Brighten your waterline
The next step is magic! Grab a pinky-toned and apply it to your waterline. This little trick really makes your eyes look bigger and brighter.

8. Curl your lashes
Now curl your lashes with an eyelash curler to open up the eyes and lift them.

Then apply a lengthening and volumizing mascara. Focus on the tips of your lashes to keep them light and fluttery.
Don’t add too much to the base of your lashes, or they might look heavy.

9. Add an inner corner highlight
Finally, add a touch of highlighter to the inner corners of your eyes.
This adds a nice pop and brightens everything up. You can use a matte or shimmer highlight, whichever you prefer.
