The Golf

The Pines

The Pines golf course, Australia’s only Arnold Palmer signature course, has recently undergone a $5 million transformation. The course-wide restoration of its greens, new bunkering on the par-5 17th hole, the rebuild of teeing grounds, a new irrigation infrastructure, as well as new target greens and white-face artificial bunkers on the double-ended practice range have elevated The Pines golf course to one of Australia’s most esteemed private golf course destinations.

The Palms

The Palms golf course has undergone an $8.8 million reconstruction in recent years and was redesigned by renowned golf course architect Ross Watson. After its reopening in April 2011, The Palms is considered a championship course rivalling some of the best golf courses in Australia, now ranked in Australian Golf Digest’s Top 50 golf courses. It has a total length of 5904 metres off the championship tees, and has numerous water features and hazards. Nestled within century old Cabbage Palms, The Palms golf course is a return to the traditions of the game, with distinctive holes, deep greenside bunkers and boldly contoured greens requiring creative shot making.

The Itinerary

Day 1 – Wednesday 16th October 2024

• Check in InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Resort 2pm
• 5.30pm welcome party at TopGolf Gold Coast
• 2-hours of golf and ‘Backyard BBQ’ food including pickled fried chicken, brisket with house mop sauce, caesar salad with herbed croutons & parmesan shavings, zucchini chips with napoli sauce and mozzarella melt, roasted kipfler potatoes with garlic and herb oil

Day 2 – Thursday 17th October 2024

• Round 1 at Sanctuary Cove The Palms course (2-person ambrose format)
• 7.30am bacon and egg roll with barista tea and coffee
• Complimentary range balls
• 8am ‘Crazy Putt’ competition
• 8.30am shotgun start and includes shared cart
• Includes shared cart
• Gourmet lunch on completion in members-only clubhouse

Day 3 – Friday 18th October 2024

• Round 2 at Sanctuary Cove The Pines course (2-person ambrose format)
• 7.30am bacon and egg rolls barista tea and coffee
• Complimentary range balls
• 8am ‘Putt for Prizes’ competition
• 8.30am shotgun start and includes shared cart
• Gourmet lunch on completion in members-only clubhouse
• Prize presentation
• EZGO golf cart chip-off competition
• 3.30pm conclusion

Day 4 – Saturday 19th October 2024

• Buffet breakfast
• Check out 11am InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Resort

Other details

• Event is open to players with and without an official AGU handicap.
• The rounds will be stored in round numbers.
• If a playoff is required hole 18 will be replayed.
• 5 registered Golflink scores (competitions) in the 10 months prior.
• Golf event managers have the right to adjust handicaps after day one.
• Handicapped players will be in Division 1 and non-handicapped players in Division 2

Package is TWIN SHARE – 2 queen bed configuration.
Rules of Entry:

• To qualify for the National Final the players of each team must have at least 5 registered Golf Link scores (Competition rounds) in the 10 months prior to the finale.
• Please RSVP and pay for your entry spot by 1st October 2024, otherwise your spot will be forfeited.
• Players must qualify through their relevant State’s Order of Merit.
• Top two players from each State Order of Merit receive free entry into the Race Series Finale.
• All additional Finale spots are based on Order of Merit ranking at the conclusion of the qualifying period.
• Max Handicap spread for Male, Male Teams is 18.
• Max Handicap spread for Male, Female Teams is 20.
• 7 drives each.

If a player’s partner is not available for the final then an alternate may be sourced with the same handicap or higher but not greater variance than 5 strokes from the original partner.
